Meet our Directors.

Roger Bracewell – Chairman

Roger attended Millfield School in Somerset and then spent his “gap year” running the family farm after the Farm Manager took early retirement.  He then spent three years at The Royal Agricultural College, studying Rural Estate Management, before working as a young Land Agent in Bolton.

In 1984, he returned to the family land agency business and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1985.  He joined his father as a partner in the family farming and land agency business in 1986. The farming business started to manufacture dry extruded pet food in 1992, which was shortly before the death of Roger’s father, Tom Bracewell, in 1993.

As Chairman, Roger is responsible for the administrative side of the business, particularly the legal, environmental and IT developments, as well as continuing to look after the farming business.

James Lawson - Joint Managing Director

James joined GA Pet Food Partners at the beginning of 2011 as Director of Nutrition and Food Safety. Having previously been Technical Director with an international pet food manufacturing company for 9 years, he has a wealth of nutritional and quality experience. James was promoted mid 2011 and now heads up the Nutrition, Quality and Food Safety departments as well as having overall commercial responsibility for the business.

Day to day activity is very much about service to clients with a focus on new product development using the very best quality raw materials. "It has to be about close partnerships and offering industry leading innovation to continue the success of our brand partners" he says. Ensuring the highest and most consistent quality products are despatched through working very closely with the production team is also an extremely important part of every day for James at GA.

Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his wife, two young children and going for walks with Yorkie (the chocolate Labrador) and Pepper (the German wire haired Pointer)! If the weather is good you might even find him flying hot air balloons!

David Bennison - Sales Director

David joined GA Pet Food Partners in 2010 as National Account Manager and was promoted to Sales Director in the summer of 2011. David has responsibility for all the Sales and Marketing functions within GA and has spent much of his time further improving the contact and support available to GA's partners.

Before joining GA David built up 15 years experience in account management with various companies within the pet and housewares industry. In his spare time David enjoys Wakeboarding in the summer and mountaineering in the winter.

Jim Whittingham - Operations Director

Jim joined GA in 1991 after leaving Agricultural College. Initially he worked on the farm side of our business but as the pet food division expanded Jim moved over in to a production and operational role and is now responsible for both the manufacturing & distribution sites. Over the years Jim's position has grown in line with the company and he was promoted to the board in 2011. In his spare time Jim enjoys cycling, skiing and running his family smallholding.

Diane Metcalfe - Cost Director

Diane joined GA in 2002 where she started in the Accounts and Administration team. In more recent years she has focussed solely on the financial welfare of GA Pet Food Partners and in 2014 Diane was promoted to Cost Director with the responsibility of controlling costs and budget across the company.
Alongside her role at GA, Diane is a wife to John and the proud mother to two daughters. In her spare time Diane enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading and camping (weather permitting). She is also a devoted leader of her local village Beaver Scout group.
